SUPERSIGHT SURGERY

Unlike procedures that focus only on changing the shape of the cornea, SuperSight Surgery works on the lens inside the eye. Consequently, your vision after the procedure will be stable (and unlikely to change over time). In addition, cataract surgery is unnecessary later in life. The accommodative lens that is used to replace your eye's natural lens will provide you with clearer vision at all distances, giving you little or no dependence on traditional or progressive bifocal glasses. Many individuals who are extremely near-sighted, far-sighted, or whose corneas are too thin for LASIK now have a vision correction option.

PROCEDURE

A healthy natural lens is able to accommodate (change shape), so that objects at various distances can be seen in focus. Most artificial lenses are rigid and cannot change shape, therefore patients will generally need to wear eyeglasses after cataract surgery.

During accommodation (contracted ciliary muscle) the Akkommodative 1CU provides a clear image for most near objects. Without accommodation (relaxed ciliary muscle) the Akkommodative 1CU provides a clear image for distant objects.

Small incisions offer the best choice for the most-rapid, stable visual rehabilitation of the cataract patient at low cost, including the time of impaired vision following surgery, the need for follow-up care, the attendance of relatives to take them to the doctor and the like.

RECOVERY

Patients should understand that, fast visual recovery characterizes the operation, but it could take several months for some patients to achieve their final vision after SuperSight Surgery.
Right after the surgery, you can expect to stay with us for 10 - 30 minutes to rest and allow the effects of the numbing solution to wear off. You'll notice your vision is improved immediately and you feel comfortable. Most patients say their eyes get to be normal by the next day and you can enjoy your activities as usual.
